Feest! - Party!

Een pak feestjes deze weekend om onze Tim te vieren.  Wat heeft hij het verdient, onze guitige, flinke, aanstekelijk enthousiaste, vrolijke deugniet!
Sofie zag er ook heel hard naar uit en heeft relatief goed mee kunnen doen, mits de nodige time-out nu en dan,  Het viel wel op dat ze zich afzijdig hield van de kindjes.  Normaal gezien smijt ze zich in het midden van de groep en kan het niet druk genoeg zijn.  Nu durfde ze niet goed.  Deels bang omdat de waakzaamheid voor virussen en bacterien er zwaar ingedrild zit, deels omdat ze niet gestoten of omgeduwd mag worden, maar ook deels omdat ze er toch een beetje naar kijkt alsof het iets van een andere wereld is, zo spelende kinderen.  Haar emotionele leeftijd is natuurlijk op korte duur snel verouderd.  Hopelijk is dat maar tijdelijk.  En als het 1 op 1 is voor een spelletje Uno of een babbeltje over dierenkaartjes, dan lukt het haar wel om van de interactie met haar neefjes en nichtjes te genieten.  Maar al bij al gaat het wel goed met haar.  Ze blijft goed eten (als het hetgene is wat ze die dag lust), ze is vrolijk en haar buik en stoelgang beginnen zich eindelijk ook te normalizeren, 6 weken na de laatste cisplatinum...

A lot of parties this weekend to celebrate Tim.  He earned it, our roguish, good, contagiously enthousiastic, cheerful rascal.
Sofie was very much looking forward to it as well and has been able to join in relatively well, only needing a small time-out now and then.  We did notice that she kept a bit aside from the kids.  Normally she would jump in the middle of the group and things could not get busy enough.  Now she didn't seem to dare to participate with the kids.  Partly because she has been brainwashed with vigilance for bacteria and virusses, partly because she is afraid to get pushed over, but also because she now looks at playing children as if they are from a different world.  Her emotional age has grown too much in a short while, hopefully only temporarily.  And when it is one on one interaction to play a game of Uno or have a chat about the animal cards, she enjoys it very much to interact with her cousins.  But, all things considering, she is doing well.  She eats well (as long as we give her what it is she likes/can eat that day), she is cheerful and her belly and bowel are finally starting to normalize, 6 weeks after the last cisplatinum...
